Born in a small suburb of the greater Los Angeles area, Jarren Blake is the son of Malcom Blake and Yumia Kaito Blake. Malcom is the owner of the multinational computer firm of Digitech International, makers of hardware and software soultions from entertainment to major business applications. Yumia was formerly a minor stunt double in hollywood by trade before becoming a parent after which she became a stay at home mother for her children. Jarren is the oldest of the three Blake children, the other being his sister Auria and the youngest his brother Malcom II, the former being an awakened mage while the latter at the age of 13 is starting to show signs of such, something that is more readily explained due to the fact that both of Jarren's parents are members of the Traditions. As is natural Jarren's father is also a member of the virtual adepts while his mother is apart of the Akashic Brotherhood, and while the pairing is not completely unheard of they still remain something of an odd couple.

Having a fairly normal childhood, the first true moment of note occured for Jarren at the age of 17, when he first awakened. At the time he was within his own home, working on his first full fledge computer application, a research assistance program that he had loosely taken to calling Alexandria, the city of the famed Egyptian library. While working on a modifications to the interative aspect of hte program, the library assistant, which was in the form of a white fox, suddenly began moving of its own accord, pressing through halls and passages that were not previously created. At first Jarren thought his father had gotten into his computer and played some elaborate prank upon him. However the fox turned to him and smiled, its head craning to the side as it knocked a book from one of the library shelves, which opened up and filled his screen with scrolling code text. As he sat there the world suddenly began to open up before him, his mind filled with the sites of various virtual landscapes mixing and melding with the modern world as he knew it. During the midst of this the white fox began speaking to him, telling him just what he was and suddenly making the world seem that much larger, and so his first day in the world of mages came and went.

If that was not enough, his parents were both in his room the following morning, taking the time to come clean with him about just whom they were, Mages of the Traditions, a fact that they had kept hidden from their unawakened children, even though they had helped nudge and guide them. Apparently he was the second to find out, his younger sister having awakened 2 years prior at the age of 13, and having been training with her mother and a few other Akashics since then. His father agreed to give Jarren a few basic tools but related to his son that he would be largely on his own to progress and find others to learn from outside of the family. His first act was to help Jarren with his first VR rig and point him towards the Digital Web, giving him a rough tour of the place and leading him to a few social avenues where he could find and meet other Adepts. Next Jarren would begin using the research program he had created towards a new end, not just a small research program but a true virtual library that held host to the knowledge of not just the world, but those dimensions beyond as well. And so that was how the next few years went, the beginings of his life as a Virtual Adept, the birth of the third Blake child, Malcom II, and what would become a major crisis point for his entire family.

At the age of 23 Jarren would recieve his degree from graduate school in Computer/Network Engineering, and began to work for the R&D department of digitech international. Feeling stiffled however he would place an idea before his father to startup a digital cafe in the city that would promote company products as well as creating a minor side label to produce entertainment software. And for the next 3 years everything went according to plan, until while closing down his newest cafe settled in Chicago, Jarren would get a surprise in the paniced form of hsi little sister, her eyes wild with fear. She was a complete mess and had obviously been in a physical struggle of some kind, a large gash across her forehead was bleeding profusely, matting her hair down to her face. He tried to calm her long enough for her to tell him what was wrong, but soon after a light shown through the doors of the cafe just before they were flung open. The next few hours are something that to this day Jarren cannot remember in full, just the face of two men, and the screams of his sister pleading for help growing more and more distant. It was a week before Jarren was fully recovered even with the help of magick and healers, and his mind ws closed tight around hte envents in question, if the Akashics that spoke with him gleaned anything from their time with him, they did not tell the young Adept. Devasted over his inability to protect Auria, the young mage descended into a obessive campaign to find out anything about the faces he recalled from that night, desperate to find his missing sister even against the urgings of his parents to let others handle it...to let them deal with it.

It was only through his Avatar and the vision quest that it prodded him on towards that served to at least at times pull Jarren from his desperate search. The data collection skills of his Alexandria program was building each day, taking shape and form as Jarren's vision of what he wanted began to mature. His mind could see it, a virtual city, filled with minds from all walks, old and new, brought together for one common thirst, knowledge. To know the truth, the one truth, a binding concept that would defragment what currently lay shattered through centuries of divergent ideals stemming from varied and often flawed takes on history and the so called metaphysical. It was in this that Jarren made his way from Chicago and LA to find himself in Seattle, opening a new branch of the DigiTech Cyber Cafe chain, while working on a few new game ideas that might aid his work. But also, words reaching him through a few sources saying that his sisters abductors were seen in the area, and a name had also surfaced. Johnathan Ramsey. So far it was all he had...all he needed. He would get more, he would chase the man to the ends of the earth, and beyond, if needed. He would find Auria, build his virtual city, contruct the new Library of Alexandria right in the middle of it and then...only then would he rest.

The next few years of his life was spent moving between various cities setting up his usual store front while working on a project to develop and large scale entertainment company focusing mainly on gaming. Through such a company his ability to influence the imaginations of the masses would grow, not to mention a greater source for sharing ideals and information under a well designed facade. He also began work on a holographic assistant of sorts, something the witch hats called a familar, though he would eventually need help with such he was able to bring said assistant into reality. A hologirl by the name of Tessa, it took a matter of months for the two of them to become used to the others in full but soon each could almost finish the sentence of the other. After his work on Tess was complete and needing a new area to seed he made his way out and towards his next destination.
